World War II Memorial

The National World War II Memorial is a fitting tribute to all those who more than self their country loved. It is not without reason that the WWII generation is often referred to as “The Greatest Generation”.

This Memorial, long overdue, will be a lasting tribute for generations to come, reminding us all that “Freedom is not Free”. In our own small way, we believe that our site contributes to that effort, and we ask that if you know a Veteran of any conflict, please talk with them about their service. If they are willing, they can send in their experiences so they can become part of this site and add to our own WWII Memorial.

The National World War II Memorial website can be viewed at: http://www.wwiimemorial.com/

We encourage you to view the site and to bookmark it for future reference.

Webmaster note:
I have not yet had the opportunity to view the National World War II Memorial in person, though I plan to do so as I have great admiration for those who served. I have been fortunate to meet many WWII Veterans, and I can truly say that it has been an honor to know each and every one.

The following quote from John Stuart Mill, is to me, the finest expression about the importance of our Veterans in our society.

“War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.”

I for one shall always be grateful for our Veterans for without them, our world would be lost.
